The South Sudanese Canadian Community Of Edmonton (SSCCAE), was incorporated in 2001.
We are a South Sudanese non-profit organization in Canada, serving as a community that provides workshops to improve the families in our community.
We acknowledge the diversity of our South Sudanese cultural background as a source of strength that brings capacity and competencies to shape a thriving community in Alberta. We have a strong South Sudanese cultural foundation incorporated across our programs and services.
Mission
Empower the South Sudanese Canadian Community of Edmonton by fostering growth and opportunities through collaboration, advocacy, and social integration.
Through collaboration, advocacy, and social integration, we promote opportunities for full access and participation in social, cultural, and educational endeavors. We strive to enhance the development and wellness of individuals, families, and the community.
Cultural Identity Promoting and maintaining the unique cultural identity of South Sudanese heritage, fostering intergenerational cultural preservation, and creating a sense of belonging.
Leadership Embedding leadership excellence as a foundational value across all organizational functions, committing to actively develop leaders and support their growth, and being recognized for the leaders we cultivate and empower within the community.
Integration Enhancing the economic and social participation of the South Sudanese population within Canadian Edmonton society and culture.
